Mauzoun

A brand name, identity and content plan for a dedicated creative writing studio speaking both formally and informally, hence “Mauzoun”.

Mauzoun is a dedicated creative writing studio that offers bilingual creative writing, scriptwriting, and translation. For naming, we were inspired by the concept of balanced words and balance in content writing, where we can speak both formally and informally, hence “Mauzoun”. The brand needed to identify itself as more than just a typewriting machine. The handwritten style of the logo, color scheme, and use of hands were all a visual representation of the human behind the typewriter. The kashida in the branding is what further balances Arabic typography. Fun Fact: Layan Abdul Shakoor, founder and creative director, is a former Loftie. When she founded Mauzoun, we were ecstatic to support her business. Mauzoun is now one of our official creative partners.
